CyberShredder - Be sure your files are deleted!

This is one of the portable apps that I carry around on my usb drive. It comes in two ways from the publisher's site: zip (no installer) or installer. We, of course, like the zip version. Just un-zip it and you're good to go. This particular app has two files required to run: the exe and and ini. So, for organization's sake, it is advisable that you put them in their own folder on your jump drive.

So, what's the point of this little gem? Well, quite simply, it deletes files. For good! To use it, you just run the exe. A little windows appears and that is where all the action takes place. Just drage your file into the Cyber Shredder window and the program proceeds to write and re-write random data over the old file's location on your hard drive, making sure that the file is un-recoverable. It uses three different methods to delete a file including the seven-pass file deletion method that has been approved by the NSA!

Note well that files that are deleted with CyberShredder CANNOT be recovered. So use with care.

The current version is 1.10 and was released November 5, 2005.
